twhirl is a social software desktop client, based on the Adobe AIR platform. Few know that the creator for the most popular desktop client for microblogging is Marco Kaiser from Hamburg, Germany. MBC09 is happy to announce that Marco is attending the conference. He will give an in-depth session about twhirl, some insights in seesmic, where he is head of engineering, and will join our open panel discussion on Friday afternoon with Evan Prodromou, creator of Laconica, identi.ca and founder of Control Yourself, and amongst some others.
twhirl offers features and various configuration options to adapt to your personal needs: runs on both Windows (2000/XP/Vista) and Mac OSX, connects to multiple Twitter, laconi.ca, Friendfeed and seesmic accounts, notifications on new messages, shorten long URLs (using snurl, twurl or is.gd), cross-post twitter updates to Pownce and Jaiku, post images to TwitPic, search tweets using Twitter Search and TweetScan, timeline filtering, color schemes, automatically check for new versions…
